Privacy Policy

This policy explains how BoardOS, a product operated by SkillEra IO, llc, collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the service.

Last updated: July 6, 2026

1. Who we are

BoardOS (the “Service”) is operated by SkillEra IO, llc(“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy applies to information we handle when you visit our site, create an account, use the Service, join a shared board as a guest, or purchase a paid plan. It should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions.

2. Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign up we collect your email address, and, if you set them, a display name and avatar. If you sign in with a third-party provider (such as Google), we receive basic profile information from that provider.
  • Content you create.The boards, text, tables, diagrams, files, and other material you create, upload, or share (“Your Content”). This is stored so we can provide the Service and the collaboration and export features you use.
  • Payment information. Paid plans are processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number. We store your subscription status and the identifiers Stripe returns (such as a customer and subscription id and renewal date) so we can grant your plan and show your billing status.
  • AI inputs and output.If you use AI features, the prompts and content you submit (“Inputs”) and the generated output are processed to provide the feature (see §4).
  • Usage and device data. Basic log data such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and actions taken, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
  • Cookies and local storage. We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences (for example your theme, or that you dismissed a notice). We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
  • Communications. If you contact support or submit a form, we keep the messages and contact details you provide.

3. How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account;
  • process payments, manage subscriptions, and grant paid features;
  • enable collaboration, sharing, community publishing, and exports you choose to use;
  • respond to support requests and communicate about the Service;
  • detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, security, and technical issues;
  • improve the Service and develop new features; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described here:

  • Service providers (subprocessors). We use trusted vendors to run the Service, including Supabase (cloud hosting, database, and authentication), Stripe (payment processing and billing), and our AI providers (which process your AI Inputs to generate output on our behalf). Optional integrations you invoke — such as media search, embedded content, and our contact form — process the data needed for that feature.
  • Other users. Content you share to a board, invite others to, or publish to the community is visible to those users as you direct.
  • Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or SkillEra IO, llc.
  • Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

5. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete Your Content or your account at any time from Settings; when you do, we delete or de-identify the associated data, except for residual copies retained briefly in routine backups and for content others have separately copied or that you published publicly. We may retain limited information as required for legal, tax, security, or dispute-resolution purposes.

6. Security

We protect your information using measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, database-level access controls (row-level security), and restricted administrative access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your data and to respond promptly to issues.

7. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:

  • view and update your profile and preferences in Settings;
  • manage or cancel a paid plan from Settings → Billing;
  • delete your account and associated content from Settings; and
  • contact us to exercise any right described above. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International users

We operate in the United States, and your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. By using the Service you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
